"But why do we hang them?" I asked, unable to pull my gaze from The Gallows. "Does it preserve the flavor in some way?"
"No, no," He said. "Flavoring comes later, when the corpses are spun in the Pricking Spheres."
"So..." I started, confused.
"We hang them as punishment for their sins." He said. "We hang them because they're naughty."
