Baby Back Nibs

"What's that in your teeth?" She said.
"I don't know." I said, picking it out.
"Well?" She asked.
"Looks like a fingernail." I said.
"A fingernail." She said.
"A small one," I say. "Child-sized."
"Where did it come from?" she asked.
"A child, probably. Or a midget." I said.
"I'm serious." She said.
"The licorice bits at the movie, maybe?" I said.
"Weird." She said.
"Tasty, though." I said.
